What is RRB Group D exam?
RRB Group D recruitment is a good opportunity for candidates who wish to join the Indian Railways. The recruitment is conducted to select candidates for the various posts in Level-1 of the seventh CPC pay matrix. RRB Group D recruitment is conducted by the Railway Recruitment Cells (RRC). The RRBs on behalf of the RRCs conducted RRB Group D exam. A total of 1,03,769 vacancies will be filled in the following posts and departments.

RRB Group D Exam Dates
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have postponed RRB Group D 2020-21 exam due COVID-19 restrictions. The exam dates will be announced once the restrictions are eased. Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be conducted from April to June 2021. More than 1.15 crore candidates had registered for RRC Group D exam. RRB Group D recruitment notification was released in 2019, however, the exam will be taking place in 2021. Initially, the exam was scheduled to be conducted in September-October 2019. However, due to the non-finalisation of the exam conducting agency, the exam could not be conducted.
RRB Group D Admit Card
Candidates who have applied successfully for RRB Group D 2021 exam will be issued admit card for the first stage. To download the admit card, candidates need to login with user ID and password. RRB Group D admit card is issued separately for CBT and PET. Admit card for PET is issued to candidates who successfully clear the CBT exam of RRC Group D Level-1 exam.
RRB Group D Exam Pattern
RRB Group D exam comprises Computer Based Test (CBT). However, the examination authority reserves the right to conduct CBT in either single or multi-stage. Candidates qualifying the CBT will have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This will be followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. According to the RRB Group D exam pattern, the CBT consists of sections such as General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. For each correct answer in CBT, candidates will score one mark. There is always negative marking for wrong answers, 1/3 marks will be deducted for wrong answers.
RRB Group D Syllabus
RRB Group D syllabus, which is prescribed by the examination authority, highlights the topics and sub-topics that candidates need to prepare for the exam. Before starting preparation, candidates must have a look at the RRB Group D Syllabus. It will give candidates an idea of what to prepare for the exam. RRB Group D Preparation

RRB Group D Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria of RRB Group D as per nationality, educational qualification, and age limit are given below. Only those candidates will be selected for the recruitment process who fulfills the eligibility criteria. At the time of document verification, the examination authority will verify the certificates given in support of the eligibility. In case there are any anomalies in terms of eligibility, candidates will be rejected from the recruitment process.
Nationality
A candidate must be either:
(A) A citizen of India, or
(B) A subject of Nepal, or
(C) A subject of Bhutan, or
(D) Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(E) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that the Government of India had issued eligibility certificate to candidates belonging to (b), (c), (d), and (e)
Age Limit
Candidates should be between 18 to 33 years. Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories.
Educational Qualification
Candidates who had completed Class 10 from Institution recognized by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent as well as any graduate or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT were eligible to apply.

Filling RRB Group D Application Form
The application form of RRB Group D was available online. The application fee was Rs 500 (for all candidates expected the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD / Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class was Rs 250. Candidates could pay the fee both online and offline.
Issue of RRB Group D admit card
RRB Group D admit card is be issued online on the official website four days before the scheduled CBT. Registered candidates can download the admit card by entering the required credentials. The admit card contains details such as exam date, address of exam centre, time of exam as well as the candidate’s personal details.
Appearing RRB Group D
All registered candidates are required to first appear in the CBT. The CBT is conducted for 90 minutes and comprises sections such as General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness and Current Affairs. There is negative marking for incorrect answers. 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Shortlisting for Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Candidates are selected for PET three times the number of vacancies. Shortlisting for PET is done based on their performance in CBT.
Medical Examination
After document verification, the selected candidates have to undergo medical examination. Letter of appointment is offered to candidates who are found medically fit.

Announcement of result
RRB Group D result 2020-21 is announced online. The result is made available region-wise in PDF format. Marks obtained by candidates in CBT are normalised to announce the result. The result PDF displays the list of qualifying candidates. Also Read: RRB Group D cut off
Document Verification
On the basis of the candidate’s performance in CBT and subject to their qualifying the PET, candidates 1.05 times the number of vacancies are called for document verification.

RRB Group D Exam Day Guidelines
In view of COVID-19 pandemic, candidates need to wear mask all the time inside the exam centre. They need to maintain a safe distance from one another.
Candidates are also allowed to carry hand-sanitiser inside the exam centre
Candidates need to carry their RRB Group D admit card along with photo-identity proof to the examination centre
Impersonation is prohibited and strict action will be taken if anyone found doing so
Candidates need to reach the exam centre on time
Candidates reaching the exam centre late will not be allowed to appear in the exam
No electronic devices are allowed inside the examination centre
Copying, cheating, or any other kind of malpractices are prohibited
