Neapolis University Pafos, (NUP), is a fully recognized private University (www.nup.ac.cy) in the Republic of Cyprus, situated in the city of Pafos.

The University announces one position in the Rank of PROFESSOR, in the field of the SCIENCE OF ARCHITECTURE. The position is open at the present time, in order to assist the process by widening the possibility for the submission of expressions of interest.

For the Rank of PROFESSOR the following requirements will be considered:

  1. Ideally a minimum of ten years in total of University work or equivalent, after acquisition of a PhD, at least four of which will be years in University work, or holding a position at the Rank of Professor or Associate Professor at another recognized University.
  2. International Recognition of scientific work, certified by publications of articles in international scientific journals, or monographs, or books.
  3. Supervision and successful completion of research programs or PhDs.
  4. International recognition of the candidate’s involvement in a specific research field, such as research references, invitations for scientific speeches, appointed for evaluation of articles, research proposals or PhDs, membership in scientific journals publication committees, or the organization of conferences.
  5. Involvement in the advancement of the teaching and administrative work of the University.

Concrete and certified knowledge of operation of foreign academic systems, in particular from English-speaking countries, and corresponding administrative experience in a University, will be seriously taken into account.

The University offers an internationally competitive renumeration package according to the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.

 The Professor is expected to:

  • Undertake administrative duties.
  • Teaching of a limited number of Courses related to the specific scientific field.
  • The academic and scientific supervision of all the programs operating in the Department of Architecture, Land and Environmental Sciences.
  • The active involvement in the development of research programs with the participation of the members of the teaching personnel of the Department, as well as the teaching staff of the distance learning programs of the Department.
  • The active involvement in the development and certification of an Undergraduate program of studies in English.
  • The active involvement in the development and certification of any new Postgraduate Programs of Studies in English.
  • The active involvement in the procedures for promotion of the programs of the Department, and the attraction of new students, in particular from third world countries (beyond Greece/Cyprus), in collaboration with the International Marketing Office of the University.
  • Commitment to reside in the District of Pafos.
